Great Lakes Invitational

Every year, my family goes to Detroit for the best college hockey tournament: The Great Lakes Invitational. It is always held at the Joe Louis Arena (home of the greatest hockey team ever!) and there is always crazy stories of my family there. Like the year Joe was asked to go on the ice for intermission for a shooting contest. We learned that year that Joe should never try a slapshot!

This year was no different in that is was so much fun! Stephy came with us for the fourth year in a row, and she brought her best friend Amanda (talk about confusing!). So even though our favored Huskies didn't win (or even come close), we still had a great time...both in and out of the arena!

Me and my soon-to-be sister-in-law, Stephy!

Silly Joey...he took a U of M shirt and markered in the most important part!

Reach for it, Cam! We had to cheer on our favorite group of boys. And what was it about Colin Murphy, Joe? Oh, yeah..."We know his brother!"

Jared was asked to picked to play the intermission contest. He tied the guy from University of New Hampshire...so they both recieved box tickets to the U of M/MSU game.

My mommy can be so funny! She was talking to Steph about her birthday and mid-sentence gasped. She forgot Stephy's card at home! Oh, no!

Joe and his curling hat. He lent it to the statue at the Grand Circus Park station...because everyone needs to love curling!

The "other" Amanda and Jared. Doesn't my brother look so pleasant? I think he was making a comment on Amanda's choice in clothing!
