Hello! My name is Amanda Dinkel and this is my webpage! I'm pretty proud of myself, I learned how to work Dreamweaver in class a few years ago. Currently, I am an Art Education/Photography major at Northern Michigan University, with a minor in English Secondary Education. I am starting my sixth year at Northern, and I will graduate in May of 2006 (which I plan to graduate with honors).

After Northern, I plan to teach for at least three years to decide which direction I would like to go for graduate studies (either art education or art therapy). Here is a list of schools I'm looking at:

I grew up in Gladwin, Michigan and the only time I go back is for holidays and a week or two in the summer. Other than that, Marquette is my home. I love the snow, Lake Superior and the friendly people here. Marquette isn't a big town, but it has such charm!

Family is a pretty big part of my life. I have two great
parents who still reside in Gladwin and two older brothers
(Joe lives in Michigan and Jared lives in Massachusetts). They are all graduates of Michigan Technological University
(my mom with her RN degree, my dad and brothers all have bachelors in
Mechanical Engineering and Jared has his Masters degree in Mechanical
Engineering, too). I'm very proud of my family, even though I catch hell
because I attend Northern. It's fine with me, I know I will be great art teacher because
of my fabulous education!
There is another "member" of my family. Steph
is Joe's fiancee and their wedding will be August 20, 2006! (I get to be a bridesmaid) Steph is a University
of Michigan alumna. She atends DePaul University in Chicago for law school.

Along with family, I also have a "sister." Catherine obviously isn't blood related, but we are close. She is a smart girl and is the one who inspired me to look into attending Harvard. I was her mentor at my counselor job at MTU three summers ago. She's definitely brought out the best in me and I have been made a better student (and person) because of her.
My little "seester" while she's in Florida shutting down one Wal*Mart at a time!
More Interesting Information about me:
My favorite movies are The Rock (with Sean Connery and Nicolas Cage), Mona Lisa Smile and Disney's Hercules. I love reading books by Meggin (Meg) Cabot (who is the author of the Princess Diaries series) and books by Jennifer Weiner (Good In Bed). Harry Potter books are some of my other favorites. All three of those authors inspire me to become one within the next few years. I actually made a promise with and old friend to become authors by the time we are 25...I don't know if she remembers it, but I sure do! I enjoy many types of music, but my favorite musicians/bands are: Tim McGraw, The Starting Line, Yellowcard, Martina McBride, The Ataris, Hilary Duff, and Honestly.
